The Ministry of Culture has taken a giant step towards the digitization of Spanish audiovisual content with the launch of the Spanish Online Film Platform (PLATFO), both for professionals in the sector and for the general public. This free and accessible platform represents a milestone in the preservation and dissemination of our cultural heritage.

From pieces from the first decades, restored works from different film libraries, to current films and series. Access is free, and you can consult the entire catalog from here. The platform is in beta, so it is possible to send comments and suggestions.

What content does PLATFO include?

• PLATFO FILMO: module for viewing historical collections of Spanish cinema. In collaboration with the Spanish Film Library and other regional film libraries, such as the Filmoteca de Catalunya, the Filmoteca Valenciana, and the Archivo del Sonido y de la Imagen de Mallorca, film funds will be offered that allow unique access to classic films and Spanish audiovisual heritage.
• PLATFO PRO: closed section, reserved exclusively for professionals in the audiovisual sector. It functions as a private video library that aims to promote and position unpublished titles of Spanish cinema internationally, creating a space for professional exchange and collaboration between key players in the global industry.
• PLATFO SEARCH: module designed for the general public, which integrates an advanced search engine that allows users to find where to legally watch Spanish films and series in cinemas, streaming platforms and festivals around the world.
• PLATFO PLAY: Video On Demand (VOD) module, where the public can enjoy a selection of specific content selected by the PLATFO programming team. This module offers access to a varied offer of Spanish films and series, designed for the general public and for those looking for the best of Spanish cinema in digital format (B2B).
